BRIDGING THE GAP - TECHNOLOGY
Technology has gone beyond a "nice to have" item and become an expectation of the legal system. "If you go in with a conference with a federal judge, you [must be able to] in good faith say, 'Here is the amount of data we have, here's what it would cost us to retrieve, and here's how long it would take,' " says Jane Allen, president of temporary legal help provider Counsel On Call.
Even when implementing technology, bridging the gap between tech and legal is difficult because the groups speak different languages, making communication almost impossible.
